Since 2010, after earthquake, thousands of Haitians have immigrated to Brazil, arriving mostly through the northernmost borders of the country.  In the 2014 series The future has many names, I portrayed many of such migrants in Manaus, in the Amazon.  They are straight shots without subterfuges captured by large-format camera. Fear and uncertainty merged with the hope of a new beginning.  It is such ambiguity that has always interested me in photography.
